Welcome to Our Site

Welcome to the Dalkey Leo Club website. The Dalkey Leo Club is the youth branch of the Lions Clubs. The Dalkey Leo Club is a service organisation of about 30 young people ranging in age from 14 to 25 living in the Dalkey area in County Dublin, Ireland.

Leo Clubs are an official branch of Lions Clubs International that encourages young people to serve others in their community and around the world. Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with 1.4 million members serving in more than 44,500 clubs in over 185 countries and geographical areas. It originated in 1917 and has served the world's population through hard work and commitment to make a difference in the lives of people everywhere. Lions and Leos are recognized worldwide for their service.

In September 2005 a group of young people in Dalkey with the help of Killiney Lions set up a Leo club in Dalkey. The Dalkey Leo Club in its first year have organised many very successful projects and is currently running many ongoing projects.

Take a moment to browse our website and see the projects we organise and fund, who we help and how you can help.

President's Message

Back in September 2005, 30 young people from Dalkey and surrounding areas, with the help of Robert Lambkin and our sponsoring club Killiney Lions established Dalkey Leo Club.

Leo Clubs are an official activity of Lions Club International that encourage young people to serve in their community. There are currently only three Leo Clubs in Ireland and approx 5,600 Leo Clubs worldwide.

I am the Dalkey Leo Club President for the term of 2006-2007. I am not only very proud to be the Charter President, but also to be a member of the third Leo Club in Ireland. To date, we have already achieved an incredible amount. In just six months, we have completed a spectacles projects, family table quiz, pub table quiz, sponsored walk, bag packing. All these activities cannot be done without the dedication of each Leo member, who gives up their free time so generously to attend meetings every two weeks and help with each activity. It is not often you see a group of 30 young people so willing to help their community.

My hopes as president for the next year are; that the club will expand with new members - which means we can endeavour to take on bigger projects in our community, and that the Leo club will become a recognised and credible club in the community. Hopefully we will continue this work in helping the community in a fun and enjoyable way.

I hope you find everything you need to know about Dalkey Leo Club, and the great work that we do on this website.
